Charlotte MacDonald graduated in 2007 with first class honours in Printed Textile Design from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin.
She is currently working as a freelance designer and stylist in Dublin. Her work can be seen in the Ireland’s best selling interiors magazine, House and Home. Charlotte is also designing a range of table linens and kitchen compliments for a well established Irish Linen company.
Her love for everything hand-made has recently led to the launch of her vintage textiles range. These are beautifully appliquéd vintage table linens and cottons.
Since graduating Charlotte has obtained experience in the retail trade. She was previously general manager of the Danish interiors product store, Pia Bang Home.
After graduating Charlotte was also selected to be a contestant on “Comortas Ceirde”, an Irish TV programme concentrating on modern craft in Ireland which was aired in 2008 on TG4. She was one of ten contestants.
In the summer of 2006 she spent 4 months working for the fashion designer, John Galliano, in Paris. Charlotte worked in the accessories department and loved every minute!
She has also exhibited her work to the public since graduating, including Art Ireland in the RDS and her first solo exhibition in Piedescalso Art Café. Charlotte has had good media coverage with her textiles appearing in publications such as Image Magazine, House and Home, the Evening Herald and Selvedge Textile Magazine.
Charlotte is passionate about printed textiles but is eager to expand her knowledge and explore 3D mediums. She plans to do a Masters in product design in the future.
